Freeze-Frames

Can the tiny painted watercolor sailor navigate his paper boat to the Edge of the Page before the Great Spill washes his entire world out to white? Voice-first timeline, freeze-frame extensions for narration pacing, 3-movement score. Zero storyboard regens.

Characters & Settings

Pip

Pip — The Watercolor Sailor

Cobalt peacoat, watercolor brushstroke construction, footprints in the painted water. A single-character focus — the only figure in a world made of paint. Named for the sound his footsteps make on the watercolor paper.

The Harbor

Setting — The Harbor

Three pastel cottages, terracotta seawall, red-white lighthouse, cerulean water. Where the story begins. Beautiful and doomed — the Great Spill will wash every painted flower and weathervane into white.

The Open Ocean

Setting — The Open Ocean

Vast watercolor sea — warm cerulean, soft cloud textures, endless horizon. The Spill visible as a creeping edge of white advancing from behind. Beautiful destruction: the flood is painted color sweeping across a page, never murky or threatening.

Audio Design

Score

3 movements • Lyria 3

Pizzicato strings, woodwinds, harp glissandos. Bright and plucky — never ominous. Three movements tracking the journey: harbor (playful), open ocean (wondering), edge of the page (transcendent). Cascading chimes for the Spill itself.

Narration (VO)

23 stems • Kore TTS

Omniscient narrator — warm, gentle bedtime-story cadence. The voice that turns the pages. Each VO line drives the story forward; freeze-frames extend visual time to let narration breathe without rushing. Strong Blind Watch backbone.

Dialogue

None — single character

Pip doesn't speak. He sails. The narrator speaks for him — and for the world he is trying to escape. Zero lip-sync risk by design. The watercolor sailor is defined by action, not words.

Ambient

Embedded in Veo video

Light rushing water — not threatening, cascading. Gentle waves on paper. The sound of paint blooming across wet watercolor stock. Chimes when a color washes away. The world erasing itself, beautifully.

Storyboard

46 frames across 6 scenes — watercolor storybook animation: blooming colors, thick paper texture, soft edge bleeds, visible brush strokes, pastel hues. Zero regens on first generation. The Great Spill depicted as a beautiful advancing edge of white, not disaster.
