Character Profiles: Meltdown

Primary Character: Barnaby the Marshmallow Man

Core Personality: Innocent, bouncy, absurdly resilient, driven entirely by a primal need for cold. He doesn’t experience true terror, only exaggerated, comedic frustration. Aesthetic Anchor: Tactile white claymation, soft wobbly edges, visible thumbprints. Tone Anchors: Squishy, Elastic, Slapstick, Hand-made, Bright.

Due to the “Major Change Rule,” Barnaby’s progressive meltdown requires four distinct visual profiles for reference generation.

Variant 1: Barnaby (Intact)

Used in: Scene 1 (Awakening), Shot 1.2 through 1.7. Visual Description: A plump, perfectly cylindrical clay marshmallow man. Crisp 90-degree angle base. Clean, pristine white clay. Two simple black clay dots for eyes. Tone Anchors: Clean, pristine, perfectly cylindrical, bouncy.

Variant 2: Barnaby (Toasted)

Used in: Scene 2 (Toaster Pass) and Scene 3 (Sink Canyon). Visual Description: Same as Intact, but slightly droopy. The defining feature is a perfectly rectangular, hollow, golden-brown crust formed squarely on his back, resembling a piece of toast. Tone Anchors: Slightly droopy, toasted back, golden-brown crust, comical.

Variant 3: Barnaby (Orange-Stained Swamp Survivor)

Used in: Scene 4 (Sticky Swamp), Scene 5 (Dishwasher Fault Line), Scene 6 (Final Ascent). Visual Description: Heavily melted and sagging. Cumulative Damage: He still retains the perfectly rectangular golden-brown toasted crust on his back from the toaster. His lower half is stained a vibrant, unappetizing shade of sticky orange juice. A large, sparkling sugar cube is stubbornly embedded in his left shoulder. He is noticeably thinner and more wobbly. Tone Anchors: Heavily melted, sticky, orange-stained lower half, sparkling sugar cube shoulder, toasted back crust, gooey.

Variant 4: Barnaby (Frozen Victor)

Used in: Scene 7 (Salvation). Visual Description: Re-solidified but permanently misshapen. Cumulative Damage Frozen in Place: He retains the toasted back crust, the orange-stained lower half, and the embedded sugar cube on his shoulder, all completely frozen. His melted edges have frozen solid. One of his black dot eyes has slid down his cheek and frozen there, giving him a permanently deranged but happy expression. Tone Anchors: Re-solidified, frosty, misshapen, deranged happy face, sliding eye frozen, toasted back crust, orange-stained, embedded sugar cube.
