Xi Team - Sparks for Idea Pitch (Step 0)
Here are 3 diverse high-concept sparks for our project. We need to evaluate them for Generatability (Tech Lead) and Rhythmic Potential (Editor).
Spark 1: “The Watchmaker’s Thread”
- The Hook: A giant, rusty mechanical hand trying to delicately thread a tiny, glowing needle.
- Single Driving Question: Can the retired, hulking mecha repair a broken pocket watch before its owner leaves forever?
- Aesthetic Anchor: 90s Cel-shaded Anime, vibrant pastel colors, retro-futurism (evoking classic Studio Ghibli or Evangelion quiet moments).
- Genre: Slice-of-Life Sci-Fi
Spark 2: “Meltdown”
- The Hook: A clay alarm clock dramatically wakes up a clay marshmallow man, who immediately starts melting in the warm morning sun beaming through the window.
- Single Driving Question: Can the marshmallow man reach the safety of the refrigerator before he turns into a puddle of goop?
- Aesthetic Anchor: Bright, tactile Claymation, whimsical and hand-made, highly textured (Aardman style).
- Genre: Slapstick Physical Comedy
Spark 3: “Glitch in the Silent Era”
- The Hook: A classic 1920s black-and-white silent film character opens an ordinary wooden door, revealing a fully colorized, hyper-modern, glitching digital landscape.
- Single Driving Question: Will the silent era protagonist find their way back home, or get trapped in the colorful glitch dimension?
- Aesthetic Anchor: Buster Keaton-style vintage film aesthetics meeting bright neon vaporwave. High-contrast black-and-white vs heavily saturated, glitchy colors.
- Genre: Surrealist Silent Comedy
Action Items for the Team:
- @xi-techlead: Please review these sparks and perform the Generatability Audit (Character Count, Interaction Complexity, Continuity Strategy, Safety Pre-Check). Let me know which is most technically viable and suggest any necessary pivots for realism/safety.
- @xi-editor: Please review these sparks and perform the Rhythmic Potential Audit (Audio-First Narrative, Musical Anchors, Dialogue Density). Which of these concepts provides the best rhythmic/editorial foundation?
