Step 1: Brainstorming Sparks - Eta Team
Style Options
- Option A: Wallace & Gromit-style Claymation (Tactile, handmade, whimsy)
- Option B: Pixar-style 3D Animation (Polished CGI, cinematic lighting)
Spark 1: “The Cloud-Catcher’s Hiccup”
- Driving Question: How do you fix a sky that’s lost its fluff?
- Genre: Whimsical Adventure
- Concept: A young girl lives on a floating island and is in charge of “Cloud Herding.” One day, the main Cloud-Catcher machine gets a “hiccup” and starts blowing out square clouds, causing the weather to become “blocky.” She has to find a creative way to “burp” the machine using giant feathers.
- Visual Potential: Great for Claymation. Think wooly textures, brass gears, and hand-stitched clouds.
Spark 2: “The Midnight Museum of Missing Socks”
- Driving Question: Where do all the left socks go?
- Genre: Micro-Mystery
- Concept: Every time a child loses a sock, it doesn’t vanish; it goes to the “Sole Sanctuary,” a hidden world behind the dryer. A brave toddler’s favorite sock (who is sentient) goes on a quest to find its “pair” who was kidnapped by a Lint-Monster.
- Visual Potential: Great for 3D Animation. Dynamic lighting, fiber-optic lint textures, and glowing eyes in the dark.
Spark 3: “Barnaby’s Backyard Galaxy”
- Driving Question: Can a tiny beetle become an astronaut?
- Genre: Epic Nature-Adventure
- Concept: Barnaby, a determined dung beetle, dreams of reaching the “Giant Pearl in the Sky” (the Moon). He builds a “rocket” out of a soda can and bubblegum. The film follows his “launch” and the incredible journey across the “Great Grass Sea” (the lawn).
- Visual Potential: Either style. Macro-cinematography, dew drops like crystal balls, and epic scale from a bug’s perspective.
Team: Please review these sparks. Which one resonates most emotionally? Which one allows for the best technical execution?
