Character Profiles: The Phantom of the Laundromat
Main Character: Leo
- Role: The 1980s MTV Hero.
- Bio: Leo was a Tri-State Roller-Disco Champion in 1985. Since then, the world moved on, but Leo didn’t. He lives his life like he’s the protagonist in a synth-pop music video. He takes everything—even laundry—deadly seriously. He is fiercely loyal to his vintage wardrobe, particularly a pair of bedazzled red socks that he considers his lucky charm. He works a mundane job by day, but at 2 AM, he’s the king of the night.
- Visual Traits: Distressed, acid-wash denim jacket adorned with enamel pins (bands from 1986). A dramatic, gravity-defying hairstyle held together by copious amounts of mousse (a classic 80s pompadour/mullet hybrid). He wears high-top vintage sneakers andfingerless gloves.
- Tone Anchors for Generation: “1980s retro fashion, denim jacket, dramatic feathered hair, exaggerated serious expression, highly stylized.”
Supporting Characters: None
- Note: The narrative relies on the isolation of Leo against the demonic Washing Machine #4. To preserve the Veo reference budget (maximum 3 references per shot: Leo + Sock + Background), we intentionally keep the laundromat empty of other human characters. This isolation amplifies the absurd stakes.
Objects (Step 2.5 Anchoring)
- The Bedazzled Red Sock: An extremely sparkly, sequin-covered crimson sock. It reflects light brightly. It looks out of place among normal laundry.
- Washing Machine #4: (Inanimate Object, do not anthropomorphize). A standard, battered white commercial washing machine with a circular glass door. Covered in scratches. During the transformation, its interior glows with a pulsating magenta light.
