Continuity Checker Report: Scenes 2 & 3
Overall Assessment: Review completed.
Scene 1 to Scene 2 Transition
- Scene 1 Shot 7 end -> Scene 2 Shot 1 start: PASS. Transitions logically from pencil sketch environment to pencil sketch forest environment.
Scene 2
- Shot 1: PASS. (2.1[VO]) - Hoods closed start and end. Traversability OK.
- Shot 2: FLAG. (2.2[DIALOGUE-Zip]) - Zip’s hood is closed at the start, but Zip’s hood is OPEN at the end, which is correct for DIALOGUE. However, the end frame only shows Zip, while the start frame showed Zip and Rusty. The visual change in camera angle/cropping is quite abrupt for a 6s shot (traversability concern).
- Shot 3: FLAG. (2.3[DIALOGUE-Rusty]) - Rusty’s hood is closed at start, but OPEN at end. Correct for DIALOGUE. However, Rusty is alone in start/end frames, not with Zip. Traversability OK for just Rusty moving.
- Shot 4: PASS. (2.4[SILENT]) - Hoods closed start and end. Traversability OK.
- Shot 5: PASS. (2.5[VO]) - Hoods closed start and end. Traversability OK.
- Shot 6: PASS. (2.6[SILENT]) - Hoods closed start and end. Traversability OK.
- Shot 7: FLAG. (2.7[DIALOGUE-Zip]) - Zip’s hood is closed at start, but OPEN at end. Correct for DIALOGUE. Traversability OK.
- Shot 8: PASS. (2.8[SILENT]) - Hoods closed start and end. Traversability OK.
Scene 2 to Scene 3 Transition
- Scene 2 Shot 8 end -> Scene 3 Shot 1 start: PASS. Transitions from looking down road in Pencil Forest to a drawn road on paper.
Scene 3
- Shot 1: FLAG. (3.1[SILENT]) - Start frame shows a child’s hand drawing the road with a red crayon. End frame shows the same. However, the cars are suddenly on the paper. The transition from scene 2 is jarring.
- Shot 2: PASS. (3.2[DIALOGUE-Zip]) - Zip alone. Hood closed at start, OPEN at end. Correct for DIALOGUE. Traversability OK.
- Shot 3: PASS. (3.3[DIALOGUE-Rusty]) - Rusty alone. Hood closed at start, OPEN at end. Correct for DIALOGUE. Traversability OK.
- Shot 4: FLAG. (3.4[COMPOUND-VO then Zip]) - Zip alone. Hood closed at start, OPEN at end. This shot is 10s. The transition is OK, but Rusty is entirely missing from this sequence.
- Shot 5: PASS. (3.5[SILENT]) - Zip alone. Hoods closed start and end. Traversability OK.
- Shot 6: FLAG. (3.6[SILENT]) - Zip alone. Hoods closed start and end. At the very end of Shot 6, the environment changes from a white paper canyon to a wooden desk surface. This is a very abrupt change for a 5s shot (traversability).
General Notes:
- Zip and Rusty character models are consistent across frames where they appear.
- The major issue is characters disappearing in shots where they should presumably both be present (e.g., Scene 2 Shot 2, Scene 3 Shot 2-6). The framing isolates one character entirely.
- Hood articulation logic was followed perfectly.
